Embark on a journey through the rich history of American textile art as Cassie Dickson shares her 45-year adventure in mastering traditional coverlet weaving. Cassie will unravel the secrets of overshot coverlets' intricate patterns and vibrant colors, offering fascinating insights into the research and documentation that has shaped her work. She will also share details on growing flax and processing the

fiber into linen fabric using authentic tools from the 18th and 19th centuries.

Cassie Dickson is a heritage member of the Southern Highland Craft Guild, specializing in spinning, weaving, natural dyeing, and the traditional art of coverlet weaving. With a passion for preserving historical craftsmanship, Cassie grows flax and processes the fiber into linen, and

she raises silkworms and transforms their cocoons into beautiful silk fabric. Her work is dedicated to preserving the traditions of the past.
